DACUM Panel for Small Cell Occupation

I had the opportunity this week to participate as a Subject Mater Expert (SME) in a Development of a Curriculum (DACUM) meeting for an entry-level Small Cell Technician position. Five other remarkable professionals were on the SME panel for this initiative.

The DACUM process was an eye-opening experience for me. It was interesting to see how the process worked and the different perspectives of the SME’s came together to create the crucial skills necessary for this position.

The entire process was very well organized and efficient, thanks to the hard work of OSU Center on Education & Training for Employment (John Moser, Traci Lepicki, Keli Bussell, Katherine Bradley, Bobbie Sin) staff members and Sara Lang with the WIA. Eric Leach with the Ohio Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation provided valuable insight into how these efforts will benefit state broadband initiatives.

Overall, this DACUM initiative was an invaluable experience for me professionally, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have participated in it.
